What an unusual experience we are going through... As my Dad has always said during a difficult time- "You'll be okay. You're building character." And as I have always said- " I am tired of building character." ;) (can you hear my fussing?!)
This Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing, protecting ourselves -and each other- what a time! And yet with all of the inconvenience and exhaustion of the masks, the alcohol gelling (is that a verb yet??)- and now with the full-time-at-home-online-schooling... I still believe in us. Team Gordon. Team Kingston. Team Kitsap. We have strong character.
Whatever comes our way, I believe that we can make it through this. Creatively. With kindness and patience and grace for one another. And with community. In the simplest of ways.
We're not sure exactly how the PTA fits this year... In past years, our PTA sponsored programs and activities (mostly) took place at school, helping to build education, relationships, and fun! So now what? Well... isn't that the question? We know that our role in the PTA is to continue to support our students, families, teachers and staff... But exactly how?? This is an ongoing discussion, and we look forward to sharing that conversation with you all. Our first virtual meeting will be by the end of September, once we've see how things are going, see what gaps there may be, and learning what our Richard Gordon community needs.
Until then- stay well, stay optimistic, and aim for the stars! We've got this, friends of Richard Gordon!
